1440p support for the PS5 has been widely requested since day one, and for those of you lucky enough to have access to the beta, it's available now.
The rest of us will be waiting until later this year, according to Hideaki Nishino, SVR Platform Experience.
It might be worth managing your expectations somewhat, as there are some caveats – variable refresh rate (VRR) is not currently supported at 1440p, and developers will need to specifically add support to their games in order to provide a native 1440p output.
For those of us who demand a solid 60 FPS experience, a 1440p monitor might just become the best way to play a PS5, but we'll have to wait and see.
The system software beta also adds game lists and new social features – more details on PlayStation.Blog.
